The Llano county bald eagles are back for the 2007-2008 nesting season. 10-29-07 was the first time to go out there this season to see if the eagles have made it back, and sure enough they are back getting the nest ready for the new nesting season. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

As of 11-14-2007 Today is the first day that I have been back to the nest since the 14th of November.It appears that the Adult eagle maybe sitting on egg, or eggs this morning. I talked to some friends of mine this morning to let them know that it looks like they could be sitting on some eggs. The last time my friends where out there was this past Tuesday and they said, that it didn't look like they where sitting then because they seen them mate in the nest that morning. So it could have been that they laid the egg, or eggs between this morning 11-29-2007 and the morning that Jessie was there 11-27-07. It usually takes 34 to 36 days for the egg, or eggs to hatch out. Probably about the same time like usual first week of January. Just have to wait to see what happens between now and then.

As of 01-09-2008 I got to go to the eagles nest this morning for the first time in a while. Atleast one eaglet has been hatched this past Friday. So it will be atleast two weeks now before we can see the eaglets. The adult eagles swapped out a couple of times and they did feed the eaglets once or twice. I got some real good pictures of the adult eagles leaving the nest, and flying around the tree. I was hoping that they bring in a fish to the nest but they never did while I was out there. I'm hoping that they will be two eaglets this year. The older adult female didn't come back this year so we don't know yet what become of her. As of 01-29-2008 I finally got to go to the nest this morning to see the eaglets. I haven't been out there since the 01-09-2008 on the count of the cold cloudy dreary weather. The eaglets are already a month old and yes there is two of them this year. They already have quite a wingspan I just wished it was sunny this morning. But there always is tomorrow and it suposed to be sunny all day long. So maybe I will get to go again tomorrow and stay for alittle while longer. As of 01-30-2008 Today was a much better day to take pictures. Lots of sunshine made some very good pictures. I got a few good ones of the eaglets this morning. Just scroll down for the newest pictures.
